Greg Surber, APR
Greg Surber, APR, is a public relations strategist through and through. He primarily works on B2B and technology accounts, like Hilldrup and Alexandria Renew, leading research projects and content strategies, but he also has extensive experience with more traditional PR efforts such as leading national and trade media relations campaigns. Self-labeled as the “office nerd,” he’s the rare breed of PR professional who is most at home pouring through white papers, digital analytics and trade publications to identify the big trends impacting his clients’ industries. In his spare time, Greg teaches PR writing and media relations at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a marketing instructor for University of Richmond’s Institute on Philanthropy. He serves on the executive board of PRSA Richmond and received the chapter’s inaugural “Rising Star” award in 2010. Greg holds a master’s degree in public relations from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in media arts and design from James Madison University. He lives in Richmond’s West End with his wife Stephanie and his dogs, Butters and Teddy.
