Cameron McPherson, APR
Cameron’s extensive experience in the higher education and nonprofit sectors helps clients land placements in such national outlets as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. For six years, Cameron worked with a Richmond-based NGO to leverage subject matter experts in 30 countries securing placements in outlets like NPR, the Associated Press and CNN. He managed global emergency crisis communications, like the Ebola epidemic in West Africa and typhoons in the Philippines. He regularly executes statewide media relations campaigns for clients. In 2016, Cameron led the PR strategy for the reopening of the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia. He frequently assists new companies and restaurants launch in the Richmond market through public relations tactics. On a volunteer basis, he is PRSA Richmond’s President-elect for 2016 and is a Side by Side (formerly ROSMY) board member. He also lends PR support to Family Lifeline and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Cameron was named one of Style Weekly’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2014 and back in 2011 PRSA Richmond selected him as its Rising Star.
