Navigating DEIB: Our Continued Commitment

Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) mean different things to different people. For some, it’s a fundamental commitment to ensuring equal opportunities, while others may see it as a corporate trend. Whether you view it as a fundamental right or a performative movement, there’s no arguing its current polarizing nature.

As DEIB continues to dominate headlines, there’s been a surge of conflicting definitions and interpretations, challenging individuals and organizations to reevaluate and redefine what the initiative means to them and its role in the workplace.

In compliance with recent federal orders, government agencies and federally funded organizations—such as colleges and universities—have begun dismantling DEIB committees, laying off employees and rolling back policies that promote the initiative. Despite lack of legal requirements, several private sector companies and organizations have also opted to adjust their DEIB approaches, with some striking them entirely

While the broader conversation around DEIB continues to evolve, Hodges remains rooted in our commitment to drive growth through these initiatives.

Where we Stand

At Hodges, we firmly and proudly believe that prioritizing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strengthens our work—both as an agency and as individuals. It’s a shared pursuit that reminds us of our responsibility to ensure every voice is heard, all perspectives are valued and every background is celebrated.

Because we serve a diverse range of clients, we know that to do our work well, every piece of it should be viewed through the lens of DEIB. No client—or their audience—is the same, and we’re proud to create solutions that better serve the unique needs of the communities they represent.

What to Expect from Us

Between our latest rebrand and recent events, it became clear that our DEIB statement needed refreshing. But our reaffirmed commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and community goes beyond words on a page.

Through purposeful action, we’ll continue to create meaningful opportunities, support our internal and external communities and ensure that our workplace and the work we do reflect the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

The road to equity and inclusion is neither a quick nor easy one, but it’s one we’re committed to navigating with unwavering dedication.
