Meet a Hodger: Gabriella Lacombe
From Rome to RVA, Gabriella has always had a story to tell.
A strategic storyteller with a journalistic instinct, Gabriella Lacombe joins the team as our newest Account Executive. She specializes in turning complex ideas into clear, concise narratives that educate audiences and ignite their curiosity.
Born in Italy, Gabriella graduated closer to home from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017. When she’s not storytelling, she can be found enjoying pistachio gelato or spending time with her two parakeets, Paloma and Iris.
Why did you decide on a career in PR?
I chose a career in PR because I’m driven by storytelling. To me, PR is the best avenue for making narratives impactful by leveraging the power of timeliness.
What celebrity do people say you look like?
One time at my friend’s wedding, I was told by the makeup artist that I looked like Angela Jolie. I’ll take it!
What are the biggest misconceptions about working in public relations?
The biggest misconception that I’ve noticed is that PR practitioners are just general mouthpieces with a tendency to be airheads. That’s not the case. Anyone I’ve ever worked with is a very considerate person trying to be thoughtful about how their client fits into the cultural zeitgeist.
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
People tend to be really surprised that I was born abroad. It makes a nice ice-breaker in networking circles!
