Four Ways to Use Facebook Live for Your B2B Business

In a recent blog post, we made the case for why businesses should take advantage of Facebook Live. It’s time and cost-effective compared to webinars and other forms of video. Plus, the demand for video in marketing is on the rise, and research tells us it’s a great way to really engage with a target audience.

News outlets are now not the only ones able to report on current events in real time. Influencers and celebrities are using Facebook Live to promote product launches or their overall brand, and businesses and organizations are going live on Facebook to promote a product or some new campaign.

There are a number of ways B2B businesses can use Facebook Live to their advantage by incorporating it into their content strategy. Here are four approaches to consider when using Facebook Live to reach your target audience.

Subject Matter Interviews

If your current content marketing game is strong, you’re already sharing insights and expertise from subject matter experts on your company’s blog.  But that can be a lengthy process: interview the SME, extract information, distill the important points and capture it in a post. Try replacing your next blog post with a Facebook Live event by live-streaming the SME interview.  Consider expanding on a past blog post topic and linking back to the original. This will allow you to repurpose old content, reach a larger audience and bring traffic back to your website.

Q&As

For a more engaging approach, try hosting a Q&A. This will set you up to interact with your audience and really home in on specific pieces of information they want to hear. In our very first Facebook Live, Jon and Emily answered questions from viewers about owning content and measuring ROI. The first half of the video introduced some background information on the topic while we waited for viewers to leave questions in the comments. To ensure participation, we promoted the event weeks ahead of time through all our forms of digital communication.

Workshops and Tutorials

Does your business or brand offer specialized services or products? Host a mini workshop or demonstration to introduce potential clients to your company’s capabilities. This is a great way to showcase new products or share your next content offer in a more engaging way.

Behind the Scenes

Facebook Live is a fun way to share a behind-the-scenes look at your business in a relaxed setting. Whether you’re sharing company culture, an internal event, a look at how products are made or how you work with clients, it’s a way to let your audience get to know your company better.

Dunkin Donuts hosted a Facebook Live that not only teased viewers with visuals of its mouthwatering products, but took you behind the scenes to its test kitchen, showcasing the process and the high level of training involved when making its sweet treats. Chefs even shared some history about the company and interviewed a Dunkin Donut vet who has been making donuts for the company for more than four decades.

If you’re thinking about hosting a Facebook Live for you company, be sure to plan ahead. Download the Facebook Live Checklist below to make sure you’re covering all the steps from planning to promoting both before and after the event.
