Ask Madelyn Balser what superpower she’d most like to have, and, not surprisingly, her answer befits a communications pro: the ability to talk to animals. Fair enough, but in her young career, Madelyn already has demonstrated a talent for communicating with humans. A VCU Communications major, the Richmond-area native is spreading her wings as part of the Virginia Spirits Board Marketing Office, helping the team tell the impressive story of the impact that Virginia’s home-grown spirits are having around the commonwealth. Maddie knows her way around social media platforms and the influencer space and is one of those workers with a keen eye for detail. Perhaps that’s why she thrives at her other passion – thrifting – a capacity to find a diamond in the rough. You could say that’s just what Hodges did when we hired her.
