Tiger’s first interview

So it comes as little surprise to many that Tiger Woods today announced his return to golf will be in Augusta.

Since his speech…oops I mean news conference a few weeks ago and subsequent pictures of him practicing were released, it clearly was a matter of not if, but when and the when would be relatively soon.

If the crisis PR folks follow the usual script, next up will be the handpicked exclusive one-on-one (televised, probably) interview to “set matters straight so we can put this behind us and address this one last time.

The likely suspects to land the interview are:

  • Someone really handpicked by Tiger and the video is distributed by Tiger (maybe but not likely)
  • Someone from the golf media likely the Golf Channel
  • Someone from the sports media likely ESPN (Scott Van Pelt perhaps given his Golf Channel background)
  • Someone from network sports (CBS’s Jim Nantz or NBC’s Dan Hicks or ABC/ESPN’s Mike Tirico)
  • Or someone from a network news magazine show (James Brown did the Michael Vick interview for 60 Minutes)

So who do you think it will be?  Here’s a poll with those choices and others for “other” or no such interview will be given.  Please vote and comment below.  Thanks.
