Last week, Hodges made history as Sean Ryan, the last iPhone hold-out purchased the iPhone 5s. Everyone at the agency now has an iPhone, even Steve, who was once known for his sleek, sexy and T9-capable LG flip phone. What took you so long people?

I recently wrote a blog on how the iPhone changed public relations. In it, I promised a post on the top iPhone apps for PR professionals. Check out some of my favorites below:

Tastemade

Don’t waste hours or days putting together a one-minute online video. Watch this video I made in less than 30 minutes to explain why.

BONUS!: Here’s another Tastemade video I made for a fundraiser I’m participating in. I love this app!

Compete

Need site analytics for a client placement on the go? Compete lets you find website viewership in seconds on your phone.

Cision

Not in the office, but looking for a media person’s email? Easy! Just pull up the mobile-version of Cision. Technically, this is a web app. Go to m.cisionpoint.com on your smartphone, and save the link to your homescreen. Vocus, another popular media database, has a mobile version as well.

Dropbox

Carrying around press releases or promising journalists you’ll send them hi-res images when you get back to the office? That’s so 2010. Signup for a free account at Dropbox.com and download the app for your smartphone. With Dropbox, you can easily send links to large files in minutes.

LinkedIn

There’s a reason the LinkedIn app lands on everyone’s lists for favorite smartphone apps – it comes in handy! A few minutes early to your coffee meeting? Do a little research on the person using the LinkedIn app. Plus, follow LinkedIn influencers and your news stream will always be filled with awesome industry content and news.

AP Mobile

I love the AP Mobile’s  alert notifications for staying informed during breaking news. As soon as news hits the wire, it appears on your homescreen. Users can personalize and filter the news they receive, and have access to videos, photos, national and international coverage.

Minus Cision, which requires a year-long subscription, all the above apps are free.
