Emily graduated from the University of Maryland, where she studied broadcast journalism and history. Emily’s gained traditional and social media marketing and event planning expertise through her work with AMF Bowling Centers and Carpenter Co. In addition to volunteering with the SPCA, Emily serves on the young professional board of Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN). She and her husband Whit are raising their first child, Hank, a Spinone Italiano, and their funny Valentine, Max, in the city where they were raised.
My pipe dream would be to serve as lead anchor for the Today Show. Given their odd schedule (arriving at work pre-dawn is a show stopper for me) and hectic travel requirements, my more realistic dream day job would be hanging out with my guys – Whit, Max and Hank (the dog).
39.5 weeks of pregnancy (it’s not as easy as it looks), 37 hours of labor and a beautiful little boy to show for it.
I’m one of Hodges’ planners, so needless to say, one of my more important tools is my to-do list, which I keep on post-it-notes. I consider the day a success if I’m able to knock at least one item off my to-do list.
Impassioned, energetic and sometimes a little stubborn.
Address and hopefully respond to every e-mail in my in box. I like to leave with a clean slate.
A planner’s second most important tool (after the to-do-list) is a calendar. It comes in quite handy when we do one of my favorite work-time activities, planning calendars, which is the equivalent of a year-long to do list. I mean, who wouldn’t love creating lists that take an entire year to complete?
Right here at Hodges. My first project was a real doozy, calling each Fortune 500 CEO to find out whether he or she had ever held an hourly position.
